The Engine Room helps social change organisations increase their impact through smarter use of data. We helped them clarify a complex story, and build a purposeful brand.
Background
Engine Room work directly with local activists all over the world and partner with major not-for-profits including Amnesty International and Médecins Sans Frontières to help them imbed responsible data practices in all their advocacy and activism.
A clear purpose
Born in academia, and dealing with complex technical concepts, The Engine Room were struggling to explain their offer in non-academic language. We worked with their leadership team to help clarify their story, and simplify their message, giving them a clear overarching purpose — to Accelerate Social Change.
Open source and open-minded
We radically overhauled their identity and frontline communications, giving them an approachable visual framework that reflects their open source principles and open-minded approach.
Working with Thisaway was a revelation. We have always struggled to articulate what we do in compelling and accessible ways. Thisaway listened, did a lot of hand holding, and led us to a brand and online identity that we are very proud of.
